| Here is a letter I sent to Wal Mart asking for their help on adding us Civilian Vets to advertisement. Wal Mart, Just finished the 2009 show car season with my award winning 2007/2008 Jeep Mopar Wrangler X 4x4 on Saturday 12, 2009. In all (21) 1st place trophies, (1) 2nd place trophy, (1) best 4x4 trophy, (1) best suv trophy and just last night was awarded Points Chase over All Class Winner 2009. I will be starting the 2010 car show season on Jan 2nd at a show in Fayetteville, Nc ( Drop Jaw productions) and then by attending the null / World of Wheels Nation Car Show in Atlanta, Ga at the end of January and at least 3 to 5 more nation car show events ( Tn, Nc, Sc ) during 2010. Along with the national shows, I tend on showing at between 25 to 35 more smaller shows ( also in Tn,Ga,Nc,Sc, Ky) Started going to car shows in the mid 70's when I lived in Houston, Tx. My Jeep is the 4th show vehicle I have had. All 4 vehicles were daily drivers and not meant to be kept hidden in garages. My biggest shows were at the Astro Dome in 89'-91 at the AutoRama events. In 1990 my show truck took 2nd and in 1991 my truck took 1st. Was very proud of my hard efforts, they sure paid off. My first show car was a Porsche 917 replica in which I attended 16 locals in 1989 Even over in Iraq ( served under the DOD/Army as Civilian HSE Inspector 2004- 2005 BaQubah, Iraq / under USACE as Civilian HSE Inspector, Mosul, Iraq 2006- 2007 both for the reconstruction of the Iraq Government, under the US State dept as Civilian HSE Inspector in Haiti 2008-2009 for the stabilization of the Haiti Government) the soldier’s had car magazines to talk about. Was license, issued and recognized by the US Patient & Trade Mark office the title “civilian combat veteran" in 2007? So if you visit my web site www. civiliancombatvet.com you can see the civilian combat vet trike I had up until going back overseas last year. Would like to know whom I need to contact to see if you all there would like to sponsor me next year? If not would be honored to have my Jeep pics on your ad site... Started 12/13/09 sending out e-mails and have had 1 positive reply (ARB) thus far to companies like yours that offers products for vehicles. You may reach me by phone 281-883-7564 or e-mail safetylea@aol.com Understanding the economy and how companies are trying to save money. For example if a company decided to pay me a small $25. Fee for showing their products that were installed on my Jeep along with the entrance fee, plus millage to and from the show, plus possible motel expenses for the shows attended more than 210 miles from my home. That cost could range from $145. – To over $200. For each 1 day show. Now add 25- 40 shows and that’s probably less than some of your advertisement money you now pay. Keep in mind the car shows I will be attending covers Tn, Nc, Sc, Fl and Ga just to name a few. We know that not all after market products are at one’s local auto parts store. Not all people have the Internet, nor do all people have subscriptions to car magazines to see your products. The best place to see a vast variety of car/truck/bike magazines are at outlet places in the malls. Places like Book a Million (my favorite) or Barnes & Noble The other way would just supply me with your parts which I would install, along with wearables, hand outs, brochures and maybe outdated catalogs. If you use outdated catalogs, they will contact you for new catalog and possibly be ordering merchandise. I would advertise you products installed on my Jeep as well as be wearing your patches, hats etc. Either way is a small investment to raise sales of your products and also a way of getting to the communities of car enthusiast rather than trying to reach them through magazines or the Internet search engines. Would also like to know if I may add a link to your site on my web sites www. civiliancombatvet.com & www.sketch-photography.com ? Thanks again Other companies have tv, newspaper & magazines ads supporting our troops but none include civilians........... Do you support all US Vets both Military & Civilian? Would like to have you start with ads including all US Vets both Military & Civilian........ |
